We have been operating as a specialized workshop for small hand-cranked millstones for nearly 20 years. Our small workshop is located in Amakusa Island, west of Kumamoto, which itself is at the western end of Japan. Amakusa is known for its "Hidden Christians," dolphin watching, and Amakusa pottery stone. However, it is an inconvenient location, taking about two hours by car from Kumamoto City, passing through the "Amakusa Gokyo" (Five Bridges of Amakusa). This time, while we do not offer meals, I have opened a guesthouse that reflects my idea of the joy of staying overnight. At this unique accommodation, guests can experience something they've never tried before?using millstones under the guidance of a millstone craftsman owner to grind coffee or matcha. We hope to help you create a memorable journey by staying at a place that provides a one-of-a-kind experience and enjoying meals at local establishments. These meals not only highlight the delicious food of the region but also allow you to connect with the people who live there.す
