This is a page for international customers.
Product price $740 €617
Stone, Time, and Tea.
The moment you hold it in your hands, its weight quietly speaks for itself.
It is crafted from an exceptionally rare and luxurious black granite.
Its crystals are extremely fine, giving it a higher density
than ordinary granite ? a truly special material.
The surface is finished in a simple matte texture.
Within its understated appearance, the natural character of the stone emerges.
The handle is made from natural cherry wood, adding a gentle warmth
to the cool presence of the stone.
Because quality is the highest priority, the grinding capacity
is approximately 1 gram per minute.
This is a speed chosen not for efficiency,
but for preserving aroma and the beauty of the powder.
A subtle step is designed into the lower edge of both the upper and lower stones.
This allows your fingers to naturally grip the mill when lifting it.
The center shaft and feeding hole share the same axis,
and the grinding adjustment is controlled through clearance.
The interior is built with equally high durability,
and re-dressing the stones is not necessary.
Included is a stainless steel cup designed to reduce static electricity.
The completeness of a tool reveals itself in its smallest details.
Notes on Use
The matcha ground by the mill collects in the grooves,
and by design falls directly into the container through the outlet hole.
After use, please clean the inside of the mill.
This tool becomes complete through the time spent with its user.
When grinding tencha, place all the tea leaves into the hole first,
then begin turning the handle.
It is adjusted primarily for tencha,
but can also grind gyokuro and sencha.
Other fully dried leaves may also be ground,
provided they are cut into small pieces beforehand.

Detailed Design
The stone used for this mill is an extremely rare and high-grade black granite.
Its distinctive characteristic is the absence of visible crystal grains and a higher density compared to ordinary granite.
This is a stone mill designed specifically for grinding tencha into ultra-fine matcha powder.
My matcha mill is designed so that you simply place the entire amount of tea leaves you wish to grind into the inlet and then continue turning the upper stone. The mill will gradually produce very fine matcha.
The matcha produced by the mill collects in the groove, where it is automatically gathered by a brush attached to the upper stone and guided into a container through a small hole in the groove.
One point that is often misunderstood is the contact surface between the upper and lower stones.
The entire grinding surface is not in contact. Only part of the outer perimeter touches, while a gentle internal space gradually opens toward the center.
Material that enters the mill is gradually crushed into smaller particles, and finally becomes powder at the outer edge where it is discharged.
This gradual process is related to the internal space called “Fukumi.” The structure of this space narrows progressively so the material is reduced step by step.
When grinding large materials such as soybeans, the depth of the Fukumi space becomes larger?approximately half the diameter of the material is appropriate.
For small materials such as sesame seeds, the Fukumi space becomes extremely shallow, sometimes almost nonexistent.
If the meaning of Fukumi is not properly understood and the mill is not designed with the appropriate dimensions, large amounts of material may remain inside the mill after grinding. Conversely, material may fail to enter the grinding area and simply rotate at the bottom of the feed hole without being ground at all.
Very little tea leaf residue remains inside the mill.
In order to avoid wasting precious tencha, the grinding surface of the upper stone has been designed with a special structure.
After finishing, please clean the fine grooves with a firm brush to remove any remaining powder.
