　熊本市内から車で「天草五橋」を通って約2時間かかる不便なところです

　「隠れキリシタン」と「イルカウォッチング」「天草陶石」などが有名かと思います

　小型の手回し石臼の専門工房として2007年から開業してやがて16年になります

　カフェなどでご利用頂いている場合もありますが先方の許可なしに当方からリンクはしていません

　We continue to run a small workshop in Kumamoto, the westernmost part of Japan, and Amakusa Island to the west.

It is an inconvenient location that takes about 2 hours by car from Kumamoto city through Amakusa Gokyo.

We have been open since 2007 as a workshop specializing in small hand-cranked stone mills.

使用している石材は、非常に貴重な「最高級黒御影石」です。この石材の特徴は結晶の粒子が無い事と比重が他の花崗岩と比べて高い事です

石臼には長年の使用による珈琲豆の油分の染み込みでシミが出来ますが、真っ黒な石材のためにほとんど気になりません

外観は全周を16等分に割付けて、ねじった様なひし形に成形しています。

表面は天草灘の波を表すためノミで荒らし、その後、反射する光を表現するために表面を削りこみ磨き上げてあります

この作業により、側面全体に微かな反射があり、不規則なノミあとで独特な雰囲気が出ました。

The stone used is "high-grade black granite" with a uniform black color. The characteristics of this stone are that it has no crystal grains and its specific gravity is higher than other granites

The exterior is divided into 16 equal parts around the entire circumference, forming a twisted diamond shape.

The surface was roughened with a chisel to represent the waves of the Amakusa Sea, and then carved and polished to represent the reflected light

This process created a unique atmosphere with slight reflections on the entire side and irregular chisel marks.

天草の内海の凪にだけ現れるかすかに揺らぐ水面がモチーフです

その後、川底を転がり丸くなったような雰囲気のために表面を削りこみ磨き上げてあります。

この作業により、側面全体に微かな反射があり、不規則なノミあとで独特な雰囲気が出ました。
